Why do we ask for Volunteers?

As our members know, North London LETS also needs sterling income to finance our annual running costs so we can continue to exist to benefit all members. Our sterling costs include office rent, telephone, post, paper, ink, printing and internet.

These costs are largely covered by the sterling income our members generate, who kindly volunteer to work at these Workers Beer Company (WBC) Festivals and Events that take place throughout the year. We ask volunteers to agree to donate their income paid by the Workers Beer Company to North London LETS. The WBC operates bars at these music festivals, where volunteers from community groups can work serving drinks to festivalgoers. This earns income on behalf of their organisation. North London LETS cooperates with the WBC to do this.

Can you serve beer?

Can you serve beer?

In 2013, we are once again looking to secure the bulk of annual income this way. Are you able to volunteer in this way? If so, please contact North London LETS’ Workers Beer Company coordinator ASAP, indicating your interest to volunteer. If you can help out at one of the events below, please check your diary now and let our coordinator, Alan, know you are able to do so immediately.

How to Help: Get in Touch Today!

Download and complete this attached NLLETS-WBC Registration Form 2013 now, stating which music festivals you can attend. Then save and email this and your photo directly to our WBC representative Alan today.

Alan’s email is nlletswbccoordinator@e-apollo.lv  Alan is our long-standing Workers Beer Company Coordinator and supportive North London LETS member.

Application deadline is 2nd March 2013.

Alan says:

“I would need people’s responses by Saturday 2nd March.  They need to send an email to me, and if they are new volunteers, they would need to complete the attached registration/declaration form and email it to me with a colour jpg picture as specified in the form.

Of course they would need to list the events they are interested in volunteering at.  Places are not guaranteed – we will only know allocations by the dates specified by WBC, so people should try not double-book themselves since if people drop-out, the place will be given to another organisation and we lose the potential income.

It goes without saying that volunteers need to be 18 or over, and may be required to bring photo ID to the festival if they appear to be under 25.”

One Response to Volunteer by Sat 2nd March Deadline for WBC Work at Live Music Festivals in 2013 – Please Help Secure NLLETS Income Today!

  1. helen b says:

Festival people are the best…atmosphere, music, meet people..perhaps the love of your life, meals, non alcoholic drinks and parking free….what’s not to like? The first thing to mention is these things..ie: whats in it for you! and by the way..North London LETS benefits. We’ve even had relatives and friends take up this offer [tho check with Alan or the office..this may have once been controversial..
it is such a good deal for YOU. I wish I was physically able now…! [I’ll have to mae it big in music to be on the stage I guess. I think it’s a six hour shift a day and the rest of the time is yours.

I knew a guy who became a bartender because he thought ‘what do I not mind doing?’ and the answer was to pour someone a drink.
    So it’s all fun.

This is of course important to NLLETS but more important, it’s a lucky opportunity. A life!.
