Re: NLLETS’ rented Office & Meeting Rooms at 1a & 1b Waterlow Road
The Management Committee of North London LETS has called an
Emergency General Meeting (EGM)
Date: Sunday 30th March 2014
Venue: 1b Waterlow Road, London N19 5NJ
Doors open 1.30pm for 2pm – 5.30pm Meeting
REASON for EGM
Ethical Properties, the landlord of our premises (office and meeting rooms) at 1a and 1b Waterlow Road, has informed North London LETS (and all other tenants) that the property 1a Waterlow Road is being put on the market. As long standing tenants of Ethical Properties, North London LETS has been offered to move our office [expenses paid] next door to 1b Waterlow Road, after changes to the layout of 1b are made. The Management Committee are looking into this, but have been asked to decide almost immediately. The rent would be the same per square foot.
PLEASE HELP DECIDE
Come to a meeting to discuss the options, ask questions and make help make important decisions about North London LETS’ premises at an Emergency General Meeting on Sunday March 30th 2014, 1.30m for a 2pm – 5.30pm Meeting at 1b Waterlow Road.
TO BE VOTED ON
Decide on NLLETS’ Management Committee’s recommendations regarding the situation of our office (current premises 1a Waterlow Rd is on the market).
B. If yes, then shall we stay with Ethical Properties or not.
C. If we stay with Ethical Properties, which of theirs offers we shall accept.
Ethical Properties offers:
1. 1b Waterlow Road.
2. Durham Road (off Seven Sisters Rd in Holloway).
The Management Committee recommends:
That we stay with Ethical Properties at Waterlow Road for now.
- Converting to ‘no-office’ mode or looking for another landlord at this stage is unrealistic (Ethical Properties have caught us bit on the hop – it has gone very rapidly from just rumours to imminent action).
- Durham Road premises have access issues – not regarding the building itself but the location, which is away from main roads and too far from bus-stops for people with limited mobility (we understand that 1b Waterlow Road will be renovated to be fully accessible).
So members should think about all of this, and see if they agree with the Management Committee, or want a change of direction or modification of what is recommended.
