NLLETS’ Waterlow Road Office News

North London LETS, 1A & 1B Waterlow Road

North London LETS’ former office and events room at 1A & 1B Waterlow Road.

In order to be able to keep membership fees low, North London LETS recently reviewed ways to further reduce our operating costs to benefit our members.

As a result, at the AGM on 15.03.2015, the Management Committee proposed, and the Membership decided, to no longer renew the rental contract for use of the Waterlow Road office and meeting rooms in Archway.

North London LETS continues operating fully in every other way, just without the regular expense of office rent now.

We’re making good use of our online trading system CES, email contact and this website to keep you updated.

Please subscribe (for free) to this website if you wish to remain up-to-date by receiving any news items posted here directly on email.

There is no central telephone number at the moment. Please use email to contact the Management Committee directly.

We check regularly. A Management Committee member will get back to you as soon as possible.

EGM on Sunday 30th March 2014 at 2pm sharp!

March 28, 2014

Attention all NLLETS Members

Re: NLLETS’ rented Office & Meeting Rooms at 1a & 1b Waterlow Road

The Management Committee of North London LETS has called an

Emergency General Meeting (EGM)

Date: Sunday 30th March 2014

Venue: 1b Waterlow Road, London N19 5NJ

Doors open 1.30pm for 2pm – 5.30pm Meeting

Date stamp cartoon

Ethical Properties, the landlord of our premises (office  and meeting rooms) at 1a and 1b Waterlow Road, has informed North London LETS (and all other tenants) that the property 1a Waterlow Road is being put on the market. As long standing tenants of Ethical Properties, North London LETS has been offered to move our office [expenses paid] next door to 1b Waterlow Road, after changes to the layout  of 1b are made. The Management Committee are looking into this, but have been asked to decide almost immediately. The rent would be the same per square foot.

Come to a meeting to discuss the options, ask questions and make help make important decisions about North London LETS’ premises at an Emergency General Meeting on Sunday March 30th 2014, 1.30m for a 2pm – 5.30pm Meeting at 1b Waterlow Road.

Decide on NLLETS’ Management Committee’s recommendations regarding the situation of our office (current premises 1a Waterlow Rd  is on the market).

A. Should we have a (rented) prGolden stick man with mangifying glassoper office at all (in the current financial circumstances).

B. If yes, then shall we stay with Ethical Properties or not.

C. If we stay with Ethical Properties, which of theirs offers we shall accept.

Ethical Properties offers:

1.    1b Waterlow Road.

2.    Durham Road (off Seven Sisters Rd in Holloway).

The Management Committee recommends:

That we stay with Ethical Properties at Waterlow Road for now.

  • Converting to ‘no-office’ mode or looking for another landlord at this stage is unrealistic (Ethical Properties have caught us bit on the hop – it has gone very rapidly from just rumours to imminent action).
  • Durham Road premises have access issues – not regarding the building itself but the location, which is away from main roads and too far from bus-stops for people with limited mobility (we understand that 1b Waterlow Road will be renovated to be fully accessible).

So members should think about all of this, and see if they agree with the Management Committee, or want a change of direction or modification of what is recommended.

Email the office on or phone with brief questions or suggestions citing ‘Mar 30 EGM’ in the subject line.

Or if preferred, members can email Helen Berenger directly, who is organising this meeting, citing ‘Mar 30 EGM’ in the subject line.

Please bring teatime food to share

& offer any help you wish

See you on Sunday!

NLLETS Management Committee

Remember Your Subs

Membership subs are now due annually on April 1. You can take the handy opportunity to pay at the EGM or send your cheque to our current address at 1a Waterlow Road. WE NEED THESE PLEASE.

Hi Alan, I’m interested in volunteering at the following festivals:

Kindly note:

Please remember that we can’t always guarantee the amount of places you request, this especially applies to Glastonbury as we are always oversubscribed, so please manage your expectations.

Volunteers must be available to travel and stay onsite for the duration of these dates – we are unable to make exceptions to this. Allocations are done on the priority rating of the organisation and the availability of places.

Volunteers need to be 18+ on the first day of working, and may need to provide ID if they appear to be under the age of 25.
